Himmat Shah
This book is a collection of terracotta artworks made by versatile artist and sculptor Himmat Shah.This large-sized (12”x12”) unique art book has many pages which have textured UV varnish on the art pieces which gives them the feel of terracotta. Another unique feature is an open-bound spine, and with the name formed on the spine from thin slivers printed exactly on the folding edge.The distinctive feature is the individually signed terracotta piece stuck on the cover of each book. The hardcase is made with multiple layers, with a die-cut cavity in the center, into which the terracotta piece is pasted. This gives protection to the breakable terracotta piece.
Materials used: Natural Evolution Ivory, Rigid Binding Board, multiple coloured papers for case and end papers
Standout features: Hardcase cover with multiple recessed layers, with the Terracotta disk pasted in the recess is the stand out feature of the book. The exposed spine with title on spine formed using the printed forms themselves is another main feature.
